Basic Human Rights Education for Social Welfare Agencies in Central Luzon

The Foundation hosted its first Basic Human Rights Seminar entitled Basic Human Rights Education for Social Welfare Agencies in Central Luzon was held last 6th of September 2019 at the Training Center.
This seminar aims to enhance the knowledge and understanding on Human Rights Perspective, to foster attitudes of tolerance, respect, solidarity and responsibility among social welfare agencies in Central Luzon, to develop awareness of how human rights can be translated into civil and social reality as well as to promote and align human rights competency standard in community services advocacy.
The first of the invited guest speakers, Mr. Melchor Cayabyab, Supervising Training Specialist from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) discussed the following topics- Fundamentals and Principles of Human Rights; Human Dignity; Characteristics of Human Rights; Bill of Rights; Philippine Human Rights Situation; Social Justice, The Role of HR and its community.
Mr. Rommel B. Yamson, Education Officer of Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA) stood as the second guest speaker. His talk focused on the umbrella organization of Human Rights, defenders of Human Rights and advocating Human Rights to social welfare services community in Central Luzon.
A total of 68 attendees from various Social Welfare Agencies in Central Luzon were in attendance such as the Lost Coin Foundation, Inc., Kapampangan Manalakaram, Inc. (KAMAI), Ima’s Home for Children and Persons with Disability Welfare Society.
